Panti Bliss for Gilead

These images are from a recent shoot with drag queen and gay rights activist Rory O’Neill, also known by his stage name of Panti Bliss. The focus here was on life and celebration. Shot for Gilead Sciences, a research-based biopharmaceutical company, which actively addresses unmet medical needs for patients living with life-threatening diseases globally. As an advertising photographer it was a joy to work with Rory a consummate professional.

Gabriel Jesus

We were up in Manchester recently to shoot Manchester City’s man of the moment Gabriel Jesus. We set up in the ever glamorous changing room and had 20 minutes to capture the shoot. Gabriel’s interpreter was on hand to translate “eat the candy floss” - some of the concepts were on the wacky side. The brief was to keep it childlike, fun and energised. We took care of all the production - finding a drum, candy floss and confetti, as well as a small ride-on motorbike - all with only 8 hours’ notice - no problem. A fun shoot and a little different from the standard sports portrait photographer shots.

The Bobby Moore Fund

The Bobby Moore Fund was set up by Stephanie Moore in partnership with Cancer Research UK, following the death of her husband, Bobby, from bowel cancer. The England Footballers Foundation is the charity’s official partner and has worked alongside the Fund to raise awareness of bowel cancer and its symptoms. As a sports portrait photographer I was asked to capture these images ahead of England’s friendly against Brazil is in aid of the Fund’s work. Here are some images I took of the players as part of the campaign.

Motion

These images were shot in a London studio as part of a personal project. The aim was to convey energy and movement; a visual way to represent the data, information and statistics. Shot using continuous and flash, all the effects are captured in camera in one frame. As a sports portrait photographer is alway fun to experiment and play.

Potrero Hill

Shot on San Francisco’s Potrero Hill, here are a few more images from my recent Athleisure shoot. We chose the location because it provided a strong sense of place with great views across the city, as well as vibrant colours from the mural which we used as a graphic backdrop. Shooting in high temperatures with strong harsh sunlight, we scrimmed the sun and bounced in available to fill. As a lifestyle photographer more used to working in London the heat make a pleasant change.

The Prime Minister

I was recently asked to photograph the Prime Minister, Theresa May at 10 Downing Street. A tricky shoot from the outset. I presumed time would be tight: details their end were at best vague.

Access was heavily restricted so it was just me and whatever I could carry. Time was tight; very tight; three minutes from first to last frame. As a portrait photographer I’m used to working fast and this was a real test of that skill.

Crissy Field

Here are some more images from my recent Athleisure shoot in San Francisco. These were taken right by the landmark Golden Gate Bridge and recreation ground Crissy Field. Styling and makeup was handled by Californian-based stylist Michelle Rivet. It was a great shoot and and i’m really happy with the images - a great addition to my body of work as a lifestyle photographer.

Stand Up To Cancer

I’ve recently been working on a lot of aspects of this year’s Stand Up To Cancer campaign. These images featured in the press launch and were widely used across national and regional titles. The theme was centered around rebellion with select celebrities being transformed into their rebel heroes. Kirstie Allsopp turned Queen for a day, Davina McCall portrayed Joan of Arc, Krishnan Guru-Murthy was Jimi Hendrix and comedian Aisling Bea became Princess Leia from Star Wars.

The rest of the imagery, including an OOH campaign will be revealed ahead of the October event. The images got alot of press attention and as portrait photographer thats always very satisfying.

Here are a selection of portrait images from a recent shoot with Simon Webbe. Shot with a mix of continuous light and flash, these were taken in a central London studio not far from Oxford Street.

The Telegraph

Here are some images of golfer Charley Hull, one of which was featured on the front page of The Telegraph this week. It’s been an interesting week for golf, with The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) coming under fire for introducing a new dress code that forbids female golfers from wearing anything revealing on the course. This image was originally shot for another magazine so as a sports portrait photographer its alway good to see it make an appearance.

Ocean Beach

Here are a few images from a recent Athleisure shoot in San Francisco. We had a reccy day to scope out the best sites and shot these images on Ocean Beach to the west side of the city. Overlooking Seal Rocks, the shots were taken in the early morning, so that the beach would be relatively quiet. As a lifestyle photographer you can’t beat the light on the west coast.
