A Christmas throwback shoot for ES Magazine just before the Holiday. Six London Chefs cooking turkey six very different ways. All shot on location in a rather hectic three day shoot. One of the best bits of being a lifestyle Photographer?..The eating…
Miami - Little Haiti
A recent commission to shoot this in-depth travel feature on Little Haiti, Miami. The people focused spread looks at the characters of this emerging neighbourhood and its links to the visual arts scene. I spent a week in Miami shooting for Air Berlin. Little Haiti is well off the usual tourist route, as a lifestyle photographer it was a real privilege to get to know it and shoot this series as a lfe
Screaming Frankie
Some recent images of racing legend Frankie Dettori shot on race day at Ascot. We arrived early and scouted a couple of locations to shoot these images. Frankie was filming a behind the scenes 'day in the life' video, I make a rather unplanned appearance you can watch it here: Video - as a portrait photographer Frankie was great to shoot - like his racing he gave it everything.
Dreamland
A recent commission to capture the colour and characters of Dreamland, a newly reopened fairground – once London’s answer to Coney Island. As a lifestyle photographer I’m lucky to go on a good amount on travel assignments - even to Margate.
A-List Super Trainers
A recent sports portrait commission for You Magazine - featuring 4 of the UK's leading personal trainers who between them have toned up a host of leading celebrity bodies. Shot in West London using Profoto lighting....these are the people who make the Beckhams, Naomi Campbell and Kim Kardashian sweat.
Berlin
Here is a recent commission for the inaugural revamped and redesigned edition of Airberlin Magazine for which I undertook the cover shoot and some of the inside imagery. Shot in Berlin and London - wunderbar. The model was a member of staff but I have to say as a commercial photographer I couldn’t have wished for a better sitter.
ES Cover Shoot - Food Special
A very tasty recent shoot photographing ES Magazine's food special. Nuno Mendes (below), The Clove Club, Tonic and Remedy, Izy Hossack and supper club hosts Jackson & Levine (pictured below with pineapples on their heads). As a lifestyle photographer I am often asked to turn my attention to food - and I’m always happy to eat the results.
The Royal Ballet
Part of an ongoing commission for easyJet, photographing the full spectrum of people who use their airline...the 'easyJet generation'. Yuhui Choe and Tristan Dyer are soloists for the Royal Ballet. Shot at Holborn Studios, London. As a portrait photographer I love these shoots - the range of subjects is just great.
ES Magazine Florists
I shot this feature for ES Magazine looking at the changing face of London’s floristry scene. As a lifestyle photographer I was tasked with looking at some of the new wave of flower shapers who are injecting some rock and roll into the once pedestrian past time.
Jamie Oliver
A recent shoot with the naked chef aka Jamie Oliver at his Old Street, London, HQ. Shot for Timeout. Jamie has launched Food Tube Magazine which will appear as an inserted section in Timeout. We shot first thing in the morning...after Jamie had finished eating his huevos rancheros. A lovely lifestyle shoot in central London.
Politico - ES Magazine
I was recently sent to Brussels for a few days by ES Magazine to shoot the launch of ‘Politico’ a newspaper and website focusing on the world of politics. The rolling news site originates from Washington and has invigorated political reporting state-side. I spend a few days shooting a documentary feature on the new Brussels edition as it hopes to recreate its success in Europe….out in today’s ES magazine.
Ronnie - Forever Sports
Most people agree that Ronnie O’sullivan is the most gifted snooker player of all time - he is also great fun to work with...latest cover shoot for Forever Sports. As a portrait photographer who is used to working with big sporting tallent Ronnie was everything you want him to be, fun, humble not taking life too seriously.
Le Comptoir Général
I was recently commissioned to travel to France to shoot this quirky lifestyle travel feature on Le Comptoir Général in Paris. The LCG, as it is known, is run like a department store, with concessions operated by an eclectic bunch of traders. Most of the staff have links with Africa, cross-continental characters who effortlessly mix what they term ‘ghetto cool’ from homelands like Morocco or Togo with Parisian flair to create the kind of edgy street style spotted in New York or London but rarely seen in France’s highly polished capital. Here a a few of the characters I met.
