A recent personal project entitled Surfacing. All the models were shot wearing delicate Peter Pan Collars to tie the shoot together. The dark tear was added at the last moment using a acrylic makeup product and allowed to flow. As an advertising photographer its alway good to shoot your own thing.
Gdansk - Alexander Mann
A recent trip to Gdansk on the Baltic coast in Poland for Alexander Mann at the launch of their new offices. A two day shoot with key members of staff to capture library images to use across various marketing and promotional material for the company. As a commercial photographer I am lucky to get to travel and the town of Gdansk was lovely.
Uncovered
Recent images for the ongoing Sport Uncovered series:
Danielle Wyatt - Cricketer, 24:
“I was 18 when I made my senior debut in Mumbai, India. I was dead thin back then. No muscle, no strength. But within six months of me being around the England set-up, they had me on a strength programme. Now I can hit sixes out of the park. It will always be more about technique for me, though. The girls who are naturally bigger can just go ‘bang’. But little girls like me, we’ve got to have the right technique. It’s all about timing."
Jake Ball - Rugby player, 24:
“I used to be a cricketer. When I was about 15, I stopped playing rugby and went out to Western Australia to train with their cricket academy. I was a fast bowler – built really differently to how I am now. Back then I weighed around 92kg and had hardly any body fat on me. Now I’m 123kg."
As a sports portrait photographer I’m continuity amazed as these individuals athletic abilities.
Gary Lineker
A recent shoot with Gary Lineker shot at the new BT Sport studios at the Olympic Park in Stratford. Two images have been used for two versions of the newly reworked Sport magazine: out TODAY (4th March) across the capital and key transport hubs around the UK. Below are the published covers and behind the scenes pictures showing the set-up used in producing the final images. Gary was great to work with, as a sport portrait photographer you couldn’t wish for a better subject.
World Cancer Day
A recent project for 'World Cancer Day' in conjunction with Cancer Research UK. A series of compelling images used to highlight the 'Unity Band'- a wristband worn to support ongoing research. Shot using models who had recently overcome the disease at White Rabbit Studios in East London using Kino lighting. As an advertising photographer its great to shoot something for such a good cause.
Savages
The latest cover of US music magazine Magnet, featuring band of the moment Savages we were invited to shoot them for their second studio album ‘Adore Life’. As a portrait photographer I love shooting musicians, especially ones with such a clear vision.
James Haskell for Forever Sports
Another shoot with England international James Haskell. Shot at White Rabbit the cover and extensive feature spread focused on James' fitness regime and training program. We shot low key images with raking side light to show off James physique. As a sport portrait photographer I have worked with James a fair few times now and he always a pleasure to shoot.
Ella Woodward for You Magazine
A recent cover shoot for You Magazine with leading health food blogger Ella Woodward aka Deliciously Ella. Shot at The Worx in West London. Her blog receives 6 million hits a month and she has 400,000 followers on Instagram. The main reason for Deliciously Ella’s success is Woodward’s own story: she suffered frompostural tachycardia syndrome, which can cause debilitating dizziness and blurred vision. She was laid up in bed for almost a year and says her change in diet – along with exercise – has been key to her recovery. Ella was great to shoot - as a lifestyle photographer you couldn’t ask for more from a subject.
Investec
A recent commission from the private banking arm of Investec. We shot some relaxed and engaging portraits of their wealth mangers for use across print collateral. On location at Thompson Hotel in Belgravia. As a commercial photographer the hotel provided a wonder location.
Traveller
The latest cover of Easyjet Traveller shot Cell Studios with the lovely Ben Hudson from Rage Models. Juliana Sergot expertly providing the OTT sun tan. We original shot with a wider crop in mind but they were bold and cropped hard. A fun and humorous image to brighten a dull January. As a portrait photographer is always good to have a little fun with images.

More naked athletes...this time Leo Barker a Decathlete and wheelchair tennis star Jordan Whiley. All part of my ongoing sport uncovered series. As a sports photographer who works in the advertising sector its great have the freedom to shoot without a tight client requirement.
Miami's Answer To Forrest Gump?
On a recent shoot in Miami I came across Robert 'Raven' Kraft. He has been running on Miami beach every day since the 1st of January 1975. Every day, without fail. He now attracts a small group of followers who join him in his daily jaunt. Robert keeps meticulous records and 2431 runners have joined him so far from 81 Countries. They all get a unique nickname which he shouts out as he introduces everyone as they set off. A lovely find, run by Norwegian and Air Berlin. As a lifestyle photographer it always amazes me that you can just stumble across these stories.
Sian Williams for C5
Sian Williams pictured for C5 as she moves from The BBC to to present the 5'oclock news. Shot at Channel Five's broadcast suite in-between live transmissions. We handled the post production taking the computer generated 'studio' grab and shooting Sian on green screen for the landscape comp below. As a commercial photographer I had to work fast on this shoot before the next news bulletin.
ES Magazine - Gobble Maps
A Christmas throwback shoot for ES Magazine just before the Holiday. Six London Chefs cooking turkey six very different ways. All shot on location in a rather hectic three day shoot. One of the best bits of being a lifestyle Photographer?..The eating…
Skins
I was recently called upon to produce a small set of portrait images of SKINS CEO Jaimie Fuller. Skins are an Australian-owned company that designs and manufactures technical compression sportswear for athletes and sports enthusiasts. Here is one of the more abstract images from the final set; an outtake almost but the client loved it so it made the cut. Shot in London at White Rabbit using Canon and Profoto.
Billy Morgan
Latest images in my sports portrait series as well as some behind the scenes images. Billy said: “I was a gymnast until I was about eight years old, but I was terrible so I moved into acrobatics as the top for a men’s four. So I learned the art of body control and aerial awareness from a young age – both are essential in slopestyle. You need to be a bit fearless as well. It’s about calculating risks and knowing what you are able to do. It’s no good saying you’ll just f**king go for if you’re not capable – you’re just going to hurt yourself.
Max Factor
Frankie Bridge shot for MaxFactor as part of her fund raising efforts in partnership with P&G for Marie Curie. As an advertising photographer not all shoots take place in big sweeping studios - this one the basement of a hotel in central London.
Movember Campaign
I was recently asked to shoot a series of images for Movember to raise awareness and participation in the ever popular charity event. As an advertising photographer this is exactly the sort of shoot I love to get involved with. The images involved recreating a number of iconic characters and moments but using 'real men' as the protagonists. Shot at White Rabbit with styling and pops by Alice Timms, H&M by Sadaf Ahmad, assisted by Tim Jobling, set builds by Cloud and Horse. Produced in-house.
Miami - Little Haiti
A recent commission to shoot this in-depth travel feature on Little Haiti, Miami. The people focused spread looks at the characters of this emerging neighbourhood and its links to the visual arts scene. I spent a week in Miami shooting for Air Berlin. Little Haiti is well off the usual tourist route, as a lifestyle photographer it was a real privilege to get to know it and shoot this series as a lfe
Lisa Mason
Another one in the sport uncovered series - as a sport portrait photographer working with these athletes has been amazing: Lisa said: “I started competing in gymnastics again in 2013, about 13 years after I first retired and nine years after having my daughter, Yarlana. A lot of people laughed at the idea that I could get back to a high level, but that just fuelled me even more. It hasn’t been easy, though. Physically, when I first came back, I thought I was going to die. The skills were still there – you never forget them – but my body is completely different now from when I was 18."
